Introduction
This Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies skincash.gg uses, what they are for and how to control them.
It complements the Privacy Policy: that document covers what we collect in general, this one covers what is stored in your browser.
The site is operated by SkinCash LLC. By continuing to use the site you accept the use of cookies as described below.
Types of Cookies We Use
Strictly necessary
Without these the site cannot do what you asked. They cannot be switched off in the site settings:
- skincash_session — your session identifier after signing in through Steam. Marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, lifetime 30 days;
- skincash_steam_state — a one-time technical value that protects the Steam sign-in flow against request forgery. It lives a few minutes and is cleared as soon as you are signed in.
Without these files sign-in and selling items will not work.
Functional
These remember your choices so we do not have to ask again. Kept in your browser:
- the interface language you picked;
- the display currency you picked;
- the state of individual interface elements.
Analytics
These help us understand how visitors use the site:
- anonymised traffic statistics per section;
- referral source and landing page;
- technical error reports, so we can fix them.
We do not use cookies for personalised advertising and do not hand them to ad networks.
Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set not by us but by services the site cannot run without:
- Valve Corporation (Steam) — on the Steam sign-in page and when your inventory is read;
- payment and cryptocurrency providers — on payment and payout pages;
- hosting and DDoS protection — technical cookies that tell a human visitor from a bot.
These files are governed by those companies’ own policies and we do not control their contents. We suggest reading their terms.
Cookie Duration
- Session cookies — deleted as soon as you close the browser;
- Persistent cookies — stay on the device for a set period. The session cookie lives 30 days from sign-in and is extended while you are active;
- Interface settings — language and currency stay in the browser until you clear the site’s data.
Signing out invalidates the session on the server immediately and removes the matching cookie.
Managing Cookies
You are in full control of cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies;
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data;
- Safari: Settings → Privacy;
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
The same place lets you delete stored files or block new ones. Interface settings are cleared together with the site’s data.
Blocking the strictly necessary cookies breaks Steam sign-in, and with it selling items, your balance and your profile. The rest of the site, including the free tools, keeps working.
Updates to This Policy
We update this Policy when the technologies we use or the legal requirements change. The current version always lives at this address and the date is shown at the top of the page.
Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the new version.
